The Monitoring, Water Sampling and Testing for Technicians and Engineers Course covers all aspects of preparing and taking water samples in the field from potable water sources. It explains how to test water samples on-site for an extensive range of parameters. It also covers the sampling process from potable water sources and how to best prepare and transport these samples to a laboratory for off-site testing.Sampling and testing is an integral aspect of the whole monitoring process. This course explains the broader context of water sampling and testing with specific focus on potable water sources and to some extent industrial water sources such as cooling towers. The Monitoring, Water Sampling and Testing for Technicians and Engineers Course delivers three modules:
- Module 1: defines the concepts of monitoring, sampling and testing and gives an overview of the monitoring process.
- Module 2: focuses on the planning and preparation of the monitoring, sampling and testing activities.
- Module 3: covers the on-site and off-site testing procedures and techniques, measuring equipment and correct recording of results.
Target Audience
This course is primarily intended for technicians and engineers who are responsible for conducting on-site and/or off-site water sample testing from potable water distribution systems. It is aimed at, but not limited to, anyone who is responsible for sampling water sources covered by the enHealth guidelines.
How long do I have to complete the course?
This course will be available for 12 months after your enrolment date and will remain available as an ongoing resource throughout this time, even after you have completed your course.
